Here's a quick post about a recent trip I took to the Minnesota History Center and saw a History of Underwear show with Maria, Erin, Maggie and Emma! It a was relatively small exhibit (a tiny little room!), but that didnt stop us from oohing and aahing at all of the pretty undies from the fifties and sixties. No sir! (Some almost reminded us of Hannah's line, The Loved One.) We also had a great time gabbing and learning about Minnesota together (even I learned some new things, as a native Minnesotan). It seems we all have several things in common (Maria is married like me, and Maggie will be soon too! I love meeting other married ladies.) Can't wait to hang out with these girls again, and next time, Kimi will have to join us! Right Kimi? ;)

That last picture is of all of us, c/o Maria's phone. Thanks Maria, it turned out so cute!

I've been fascinated with super early color photographs that have been unearthed recently. These first ones are of New York City street life in the 1940's (found via TeenAngster) and the second set are some of the first color images of the quake in San Fransisco in 1906! Those ones are kind of horrifying, dont you think?

And for something completely different, some color autochrome images of 1920-30's America! I just love the vibrancy of these, the palates are so unusual! Although, it almost doesnt seem like some of these are from the past at all, in some ways. Found via Good Night, Day (more here).

These girls with all of their navy and black from Stockholm Streetstyle (all shot in Paris?? whats up with that you guys?):

John Slattery via the new Lincoln MMX commercials (Article in the NYT here). The white hair, the dark-rimmed glasses... I am in love with him, you guys!

This random guy, whom I spotted on Jak&Jil. Very fashionable indeed.

And Joan Baez, circa 1962 (Alex and I watched Martin Scorsese's documentary about Bob Dylan recently). She kind of reminds me of my mom, when she was very young.

Is it weird that my style inspirations are coming from men?
