Today, the birds were chirping, kids were outside laughing and playing football in the street, and Alex and I got darn near the whole house cleaned and a bunch of little projects finished! IT IS OFFICIALLY SPRINGTIME PEEPS. (Edit: It is not Springtime, it is Second Winter...) I'm over the moon excited, over here! And tomorrow I plan to eat myself silly at our annual friends brunch (photos to commemorate our 5th annual brunch to follow, for sure).

I actually wore this outfit to work the other day, and applied lipstick for evening. One of my absolute favorites to date. I wish I could just dress this simply and easily everyday! Well, I guess I try.

And a few angsty shots, for good measure...

Here are a list of my favorite things on the MSP Craigslist right now. I wish I could afford to get all of them!

round Room & Board end table, $160  // For the Living Room.

round tulip-style table for the kitchen $150 // Though I'd prefer ahem... a white marble top.

beautiful teak wood patio set $375 // Though I'm not completely sold on those super bright red cusions. I would probably want to recover them in Black, Grey or Tan.

This great wooden storage unit! $200 // For the basement workroom area.

Set of two industrial light fixtures, $25 each // For the Master Bedroom.

Midcentury chrome desk lamp $40 // For the Master Bedroom or Guest Bedroom.

The perfect rustic wood bench, $50!! // For the Foyer!

YOU GUYS, I am getting so excited to attend my friends' upcoming SPACE PARTY! Any and all kinds of space related costumes will be in attendance, and all sorts of weird alien foods & beverages will be consumed. Last time around (yes, this is our second space-themed party, the last one was so epic we had to do it again! Flickr proof here!) my costume was pretty blah, and thrown together last-minute, but this time around I am determined to be prepared (there is a grand prize for the best costume... we are nerds.)

Emma and I went to the craft store last weekend to collect items for our costumes, and I ended up getting super inspired by all the weird plants and materials in the floral aisle. I even started construction and spray-painting some things the other night. I cant wait to see how it turns out! But to give you a little sneak peek, here are some of the inspirations I've gathered from the diverse corners of the internet. Think sort of a white ethereal moon-princess-type-creature. But with a little edge. ;)

And of course, I cant decide what to do for a manicure yet but, GEMS? PEARLS? YES BOTH!

Alex and I went out to breakfast at the Day by Day Cafe on West 7th the other day and it was awesome (and awesomely cheap!) Then we stopped at an antique store next door when we noticed they were having a sale. I picked up an adorable little first-knuckle ring with a hand on it and Alex bought a pristine vintage Kodak darkroom timer to use as a kitchen timer! Then we decided to haul ourselves over to the mall to get Alex some new work shoes (which we did not find) but lo and behold I found a pair of great tan wedge booties on super sale (of course I did), and could not resist bringing them home. Alex also picked up new perfume/cologne for each of us from Banana Republic (they were all so good, guys! it was hard to decide!) since we were both out. So I decided to take a photo of our goods, since they looked so nice together...

As promised, like a million years ago! Sorry dudes! You cant see the polka dots very well in the top panoramic photo (they are very subtle), but there are some good photos of them down below. I love my freshened-up bathroom! And the new oiled-wood shelf! Next up, I have to find a replacement light fixture for above the sink (or maybe just clear globes... we will see...)
