two things
29 January 2009

one) I am going to combine being tagged by Emma to go to my fourth folder where pictures are and then the fourth picture and post/talk about it, and my new favorite stupid thing: a program called Poladroid. It converts your regular digital photos into silly Polaroid-looking things. But beware, if you don't like waiting for you Polaroids to develop in real life, you won't like this program. This photo, btw, is an unflattering candid that Alex took of me while we were decorating our xmas tree this year. Needless to say, I should have deleted it when I had the chance!

two) The reason I felt the need to download this silly (and fun!) thing, is because I too am playing around with Polaroid images lately. It seems to be the only version of photography that allows me instant gratification (besides digital of course) AND makes me feel like I am making work (and not being a lazy butt). I am looking into buying Polaroid in bulk on ebay or something, but they seem to be just as expensive everywhere. We will see, maybe I can play around with some EXPIRED Polaroid for cheap.

PS: Consider yourself TAGGED everyone!

oh, summer...
25 January 2009

I was looking through my past wardrobe remix pictures, and I just noticed how TAN I was this past summer! (and how NOT TAN I am right now) I never realized that there could be that much of a difference.

I think this makes me miss summer. But then, what doesn't?

What are you guys dreaming about lately?

I CAN MAKE ART?
22 January 2009

Everyone, I will soon be in a group photography show curated also by me. Starring Scott Grover, Pa Her, Allison Vallant. More info to come. Here is a sneak peak!

new things
19 January 2009

Look at this cute house!

I now work here, as a Digital Assistant for Little Bean Photography! Little Bean is Elissa Kadue, a local photographer who takes pictures of your cute little tots. No tots? Too bad... she does some really adorable stuff.

More to come - I have a couple of surprises on deck now, don't I?

Slouchy, slouchy and more slouchy... that's all I've been doing lately, but can you blame me when it's too cold outside to THINK! ANYONE?!

scarf: vintage 70's, from my mom!
cardigan: ON clearance
knit dress/tunic: F21
belt: madonna for H&M
jeans: H&M
socks: gift
shoes: vintage, my newest purchase from Savers!!

You can see a better picture of the shoes on my Flickr, here (I wonder who could have possibly inspired me to look at italian leather shoes...?).

Art, Fashion AND Shelter Porn
13 January 2009

My three favorite things. All at once. Thank you Zooey Deschanel! You can view her entirely blue, entirely adorable studio here, at Domino Magazine. I originally found the tour here however, at Apartment Therapy Chicago. Always a good read.

And thank you Emma for getting me a Christmas subscription to Domino! I just got the card in the mail last week and am already checking the mailbox twice a day, hoping that the deliveryman will make a special trip just for my first issue! (of course, he wont. but here's hoping...)

PS: If you can't tell, I've been studying up on my professional-apartment-looking-pictures-taking skills (or "interiors" for us boring types) for a super secret reason... Stay tuned for the answer!

takin it to the streets
09 January 2009

Some of you may have heard of The MidWasteland, a street style blog based in Chicago. And some of you may not have. It seems that they are looking to expand on the whole "midwestern theme" of the blog by hiring a Minneapolis-based blogger, too! (I hope it's me)

Aren't these Chicagoans cute?

They'll never be as cute as Minneapolitans, though...

I now have a Flickr Pro account! I held out for as long as I possibly could (I am allowed 200 photos in regular mode, and I had posted 195...), but realized that I do need it, and it's a good investment. THINK of how many pictures I can upload now! I won't have to edit! AT ALL! Prepare for embarrassing pictures of EVERYONE!

Also check out my new Flickr and Weardrobe badges on the right! I like flash.
