Thanks weardrobe.com, for choosing me as this week's contest winner! I love this outfit and am so glad it was chosen, although its not one of my more wintery looks, as it is currently -14 below outside!!! I hate you, the cold! The interview should be up on their website soon, so check back! EDIT: They are all out of town over at weardrobe, so the interview may not be up til next week. 'Tevs!
I hope everyone is having a good Holiday break so far. I miss so many of you already (you know who you are!) Emma, when do you get back so that we can go shop at THE GAP together?!

Emma and I went to Savers (YES SAVERS) today for a much-needed spot of shopping and I found this lovely little vintage fur coat. We can't tell if it's real fur or not, but since it's vintage I think it must be. ANYWAYS, it is just the perfect shorter length, has warm pockets and is just so darling! I just have to get it dry-cleaned and find one big brown button to replace one at the top that is missing...
No biggie.

Now that I'm working two jobs and am almost never home, I like to curl up and watch some good tv when I am home (and freakin tired). Besides TCM, I watch a lot of PBS, since that channel comes in HD! And on PBS is a great show called "Monarchy: The Royal Family at Work." And after only one episode, I realized that the Queen Mum has AMAZING taste in clothing, to this day. I now love her. See for yourself:

I especially love the beautiful white fur she is seen wearing to a Gala, and the little patent black purse she carries with her almost everywhere!
But I'm not the only one to think that the Queen has an immaculate fashion sense, Buckingham Palace had an exhibition of 80 of her gowns in 2006, to celebrate her 80th birthday! Wish I could have seen it. But you can check out some of them here.

I wore this last night to the opening at Intermedia Arts... and then guess what I found today?

The professional model dopple-ganger version of me. Wierd.
Not to mention that Emma and Ben were also wearing red plaid. PLAID EVERYWHERE.

Alex and I have been watching a lot of TCM lately. I think I have subconsciously been trying to get as much out of cable television before we inevitably need to get rid of it (too spendy!).
And we happened to watch several Woody Allen movies in a row, one of which was Annie Hall, which I have never seen before. And loved. BUT, I also loved the clothes Diane Keaton wore. Very androgynous and menswear-inspired, but still with a feminine touch, straight out of the 70's. I am in love.

In that top one, its the glasses that really make it. A plain tshirt and men's big-frame glasses. I just love the hat and slouchy bag in the fourth one down, too. But I couldn't find any pictures of my favorite outfit that she wears. It is a sort of all-khaki and white and cream suit-ish number. Adorable. Keep an eye out for it wen they are in their kitchen toghether about a third of the way through the movie...
In fact, even other fashion sites have taken a dose of inspiration from her (as they very well should). I am not going to link to this site, because it is an awful shopping site, but they did a good job, minus the gold boot-flats?

I think I am going to start wearing a black skinny tie to work.

Okay, so today is a big day for me. First day as part-time Assistant and part-time usher. Since there are no shows on Mondays, I have some free time. This is my checklist (I KNOW, again. sorry) for today:

One thing I don't think I will do, however, is enter the weekly contest over at Weardrobe. Yummy Tummy gift card?? Seriously? I don't want that poop.
PS. the winner this past week is cute. I kind of like her.
